Subject: Using ARCSERVE and SBACKUP tape software with AMI-SCSI Express for Novell Netware 386 version
1.20
1. Set up the "express.cfg" file to be used when the modules are loaded. This file needs to be located in
the current directory from which "server.exe" is run from.
The format of the "EXPRESS.CFG" file is:
[ DEVICE ASSIGNMENTS ] ;;This is the header
DEVICE=AMI@330:20 EXTERNAL ;;contains the main driver
;;name AMI,AHA or BUSTEK to
;;use, followed by the port
;;address to which the SCSI
;;controller containing the
;;tape device. The target id
;;and lun number is then
;;separated by colons (:)
;;followed by the class set
;;to EXTERNAL.
2. The "startup.ncf" file should contain the following minimum modules to be loaded.
LOAD EXPRESS
LOAD AMI
LOAD XASPI
LOAD DASD
LOAD DASDDRV

3. At this point, the following tape software can be installed by following the instructions contained in
each of the packages:
Cheyenne ARCSERVE 3.0a/3.0b software.
Cheyenne ARCSERVE 4.0 software.
SBACKUP.NLM version 3.11b (The most current version-accessible from either NOVELL Corporation or from
the NOVELL conference on COMP-U-SERVE under the name of "SBACK.ZIP".
NOTE: No special drivers need to modified or replaced.
Therefore \NOVELL\ARCSERVE\TAPEDRV.NLM (diskette 1 of 5) is deemed unnecessary for ARCSERVE 3.0a\3.0b, and no
file change is required for ARCSERVE 4.0.
